Such a wonderful place! Always feel at home when we come to this piece of paradise. Great beer selection & great music!!
They sometimes have decent live music on weekends. Nice hiking trails a little ways down the road.
This place is mainly a start/end point for rafting trips on the Dan river. Shuttle services and boat rentals are available. They don't serve food but 2 local restaurants deliver. They have a nice selection of beer, wine and hard cider. There is a small balcony overlooking the river. They have plans to expand. The decor is primitive woodsy.
We visited Green Heron Ale House one evening while camping at Hanging Rock. Alcohol is prohibited in the park, but we wanted some drinks after hiking all day. They don't serve food (so dogs are allowed inside), so we got a pizza to go and ate it here. They have a nice selection of beer and wine and the bartender was really friendly and very sweet to our dog. This is a great spot to get a drink after visiting Hanging Rock or paddling the Dan River as the Dan River Company is located just outside.
A little piece of heaven in God's Country with great craft beers, live music and great time!
I've been there twice recently and was annoyed that there was no place to escape cigarette smoke.
