Fantastic park in the off season (winter). You can expect their popular trails (hanging rock trail) to be very crowded during the summer months. I recommend the Moore's knob trail. It is a great hike if you complete the loop and will end up being about 5 miles. This trail has a better view than hanging rock and it rarely is crowded with the sounds of screaming children (thankfully).

Great park! It can be busy because of its proximity to Greensboro, and is also popular with the college crowd. Summer weekends are very crowded. However, the park's natural beauty and trail difficulties make it worth it! Some of the trails labeled "moderate" (such as the Hanging Rock Trail) are quite strenuous, even for very fit folks. Make sure you bring LOTS of water! Nice facilities and it's generally open every say save for the major ones and during inclement weather. Bring a jacket for cooler days, and of course your camera!

This is one of my most favorite places on earth! Easy-to-Moderate hike to the top, which provides access to many amazing views & scenes. This is one of the most beautiful sunset locations that I have ever seen. Be sure to bring flashlights for the walk down if you take in the sunset! Enjoy!!

This place is pretty cool, but very crowded. We did the popular hanging rock trail. The picture of you sitting on the over-hanging rock is totally worth this hike. We got there early so the trail wasn't too crowded, but when we were coming down we were passing people every 10 seconds. This place can get really crowded! Get there as early as you can if it's a holiday or weekend. Or hike one of the other trails that may be less crowded. We also did the short hike to the falls from the visitor center. It's not much of a waterfall.

I love all of the trails at hanging rock. So many good views to be seen if you're willing to walk to it. Plus the rangers and visitor center staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable about the park, trails, and wildlife.
